Things are moving quite quickly with the book now and if you have been following me on facebook you will see that I am working my way through putting the finishing touches to the Sensibly Selfish Secrets Resource Pack that will be a free download gift to accompany the book.
We are surrounded in todays world with a wealth of information at our fingertips and although this has advantages it also means we are more often than not, we are overwhelmed! When time is precious, do you really want to waste 30 minutes or so finding out information about spring cleaning tips, financial help or the latest medical advice for Midlife?
The problem with modern technology is that it is also forever changing. What is available on the web today will be changed tomorrow. Putting this type of content into a book means it will be outdated before its even printed!
In order to provide emotional and practical support beyond the book, The Sensibly Selfish Resource Pack was the perfect solution. It means that useful web links, book titles, You-Tube videos, i-apps are just a button away from the reader, saving time and energy in research.
Readers will also have the possibility to add their own findings and favorites. Midlife women are encouraged to send in their suggestions which will be added periodically to the resource pack. A community created Resource pack will be extremely powerful!
Next week I will explain The Monthly Guidance System which is also a fundamental part of ‘Sensibly Selfish Secrets – How to put the ‘me’ into Midlife.’
If you would like to know more about my unique style of coaching for Midlife Women please feel free to contact me. I also have some amazing offers for Christmas this year check them out here!

Kay Newton Coaching Presents:
‘The Four Natural Elements’
Mallorca 2011
Personal Development for Women
Sista are you struggling with a part of your life? How much suffering is this causing at the moment? How much time do you waste each day worrying? What do you most fear? When is it going to get better?
Would you like to find a quick fix so that you can begin to love your life again?
Suffering, fear, worry, struggle often begins inside out heads and yet it is one place we avoid visiting! Asking for help can often be expensive, time consuming and frustrating. Attending workshops has advantages yet we learn better by doing not sitting listening to others. Our mind works better when distracted.
Throughout 2011 I will be organizing a series of courses based upon femininity, the four natural elements of Fire, Earth, Air and Water and the beautiful scenery of Mallorca.
The four elements are all interconnected, everything that is breaks down into these elements. They represent life-force, divine energy, universal energy. When these four elements are imbued with spirit we have life! By breaking down the elements, connecting and focusing on one, you are also able to comprehend and connect to nature,
to all that is your humanity and personal nature.
Each course will involve professionals dedicated to each particular element. Each sourse will encompass Kay’s unique brand of Coaching; ‘The Sensibly Selfish Way.‘
Places will be extremely limited.

Mid Life women tend to fall into three categories at Christmas time; those ladies who receive a surprise gift from a loved one which just happens to be what they have always wanted, those who leave hints and notes on the fridge for weeks in advance in the hope that someone will notice and buy at least one thing off the list and those others that go out and buy exactly what they want for themselves, wrap it beautifully and stick it under the tree!
The problem with Christmas gifts no matter who they come from they tend to be gifts for our outer world. Rarely do we buy a gift directly for our inner world. Let me explain what I mean.
Everyone lives in two worlds simultaneously; internal and external. Our internal world happens inside our brains and we share with no-one. Our external world is everything we interpret outside our minds. Whatever happens in our internal world causes our outer world to be just exactly the way it is, and you can even say vice a versa.
If we are not happy with our outer world, does in not make sense that we must then change our inner world? That new dress, perfume or comfy slippers may make our inner world immediately content, yet will it change the way we think and feel in the longer term?
If you look at your Mid Life and feel that you have still much to achieve, would it not be a great idea to gift yourself, at least one personal development coaching session so that you can address issues un-resloved? Now is your chance. For the lucky readers who have read so far I have some fantastic offers for you..
- A one on one coaching session with me personally based on the Sensibly Selfish principles for only 67€’s. Each session is 1 hour long and can be taken via the telephone or face to face in Mallorca.
- Purchase 5 sessions for 258€’s and get your 5th session free
- Purchase 10 sessions for 526€’s and get your 5th and 10th sessions free
- These gift vouchers are also redeemable against 2011′s Four Elements Courses that will be held here in Mallorca – the information for these courses will follow in the next post.
- And that’s not all, anyone buying any one of the above gifts will also be added to our prize draw for a Free Spa Pampering. More details to be posted here in the New Year.
You cannot buy these gift vouchers by shopping cart, you cannot just hand over your money and expect the deed to be done.
Why I hear you ask? Because I know how coaching works!
I can only fit in a few more clients before my schedule will be full! Until June 2011! I am therefore going to be a little choosy about who I agree to coach.
I need you to contact me personally and let me know which voucher interests you, what you want to achieve by buying a voucher and how committed you are to Sensibly Selfish change.
Oh! And don’t forget to include what it would mean to have a Spa Pampering!
I look forward to hearing from you.

Things are happening at such a with my Mid Life Coaching practice I have decided not to post just one blog but FOUR this week – just to keep you in the picture!
My first post is to introduce you to Jane Crone a true inspirational Mid Life Lady! I was introduced to Janes illustrations through a personal friend and when I heard how she had moved from the corporate world to her passion I had to contact her! You can read just what Jane has to say about passion and career changes at Mid Life, she is certainly a fantastic inspiration. I will be interviewing Jane in the New Year for the Sensibly Selfish Website (more on this project next week)
This is what Jane has to say:
52 and fearless…..
….a label that would have been alien to me ten years ago but one that pretty much describes my life now.
Having worked for over 20 years in the corporate world (marketing) and enjoying it mostly, my needs and values changed in the latter part prompting a quest for new directions. Luckily I managed to negotiate early retirement at 50 and have never looked back. Shutting one door opened others, affording me new work opportunities almost overnight. There was simply no time to be scared!
My love of history and Shakespeare has been reignited with an ‘out of the blue’ offer of regular freelance work with The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust. I’ve started writing again following a truly inspirational course run by The Arvon Foundation. And at long last I’ve picked up my pencils and paintbrushes and launched myself as an illustrator. I was trained in art and design many years ago but never had the opportunity to pursue it as a career, so it’s great to be realising this particular dream – albeit later in life.
I specialise in affordable pen and watercolour illustrations and take commissions from small business and private individuals.
So, at 52 my career is new, exciting (always wondering what is around the corner) and I’m still working hard, but at the things I want to do.
Change is scary, but you never know until you try. And when you do try amazing things often happen.
To see Jane’s amazing work visit her website
If you would like to make a career change at Mid Life and need help to do just that, please contact me by either leaving a message below or using my contact page. Let’s make sure you are being Sensibly Selfish and doing the things that you want to do.

It’s official 2012 will see the publication of my new book. I am so excited it is going to be a fantastic time! It has not always been that way!
Two years ago I began a really steep learning curve, part of which was to write a small e-book to be included in a website concept for women in Mid Life.
The more I learned the more I seemed to be at the bottom of a great pile of ***** stress.
Ironic when the title of the book is ‘Sensibly Selfish Secrets – How to put the ‘Me’ into Mid Life’ – based on the concept that Mid Life women have to learn how to put themselves first so that they can help others and not the other way round.
I was so not putting myself first, I was stressed, making myself ill, going around in circles. I had no time, I wasn’t in control and I was unable to say ‘no’. I could show up for others yet couldn’t show up for myself. I was the ideal reader for my book!
I am now being ‘Sensibly Selfish.’ My health is slowly improving (I have lost 5 kilos in weight in one month). I have said enough is enough and stopped the headless chicken impersonations. I feel I have taken control of the project once again and it no longer controls me. The book has been re-worked and sent to the editor and in six weeks time it will be on sale to the public.
Watch this spot! I will be telling you more about the book content in due course but if you would like to know more NOW then send me a message I would love to tell you.

As a Mid Life Coach for Women, finding out what a clients ‘truth’ is can take time. It is often hidden under so many other layers of excuses – as multi-tasker’s women are very good at hiding underneath other peoples issues! Women are so good at showing up for others and not showing up for themselves.
When eventually the truth is spoken it can often come out in the wrong way, you may never have meant to have hurt someone yet if compassion is not remembered when speaking your truth it is bound to cause pain.
The Sensibly Selfish Secret is to tear away the layers of life until you can find your true self. Ask those questions that reveal what is unique and innate inside you and only you. What makes you tick when you are not sandwiched between the kids and your aging parents and all the other do-good things in your life? What allows you to show up for others yet you have no idea how to show up for yourself – when will you change this?
What dreams have you put on hold so that your kids, partner, parents, friends, siblings even boss have been allowed to get their goals met? What stops you from saying what you really want in life? What do you really want? When will you say ‘no’ or ‘yes’ and actually mean it?
And when you know the answers – shout them out LOUD!
Feel what it means to be true to yourself. Live with it for a few moments, savor it and feel all emotions the pleasure and the fear. The fear comes because as a woman you immediately begin to imagine what this will mean to those you love, how will they take this news? Can you really tell them? It is NOT about them this time – it is about you.
So now you know what your truth is how do you tell everyone? How will they react because tell them you must. Mid Life is the time to fulfill your souls desires.
The Sensibly Selfish Secret is to say you truth with compassion. Say what you would like to hear that person say to you. Speak from the heart with warmth on your face. Use a smile, relax your body and breath deeply. Come from a place of calm with no malice. The art is to take away the pain from the other person before they actually feel it.
Both speaking the truth and with compassion need practice. If you have any personal comments or experience you would like to share please feel free to use the comment box below. If you are interested in personal development coaching please do not hesitate to contact me.

Some of you Mid Life followers may have been aware that I have had a busy month following my own Personal Development path and that I have just arrived back from Malaysia. I was fortunate enough to participate in the most amazing course yet The Enlightened Warrior Training Camp – Definitely Life Changing.
I am sworn to secrecy about the actual contents of the course, yet I would like to share a few learnings. Many women in Mid Life may not get the opportunity to take participate in such a course and yet there are many changes taking place world wide right now. It is time for all women to become Warriors in their own lives.
The Samurai Warrior is defined as a person who conquers oneself. The camp promised to teach the secrets of being strong and confident, to react from choice, with self approval, integrity and to take action despite of fear. To be an Enlightened Warrior we also had to practice being one too! The camp also promised the opportunity to see yourself from an entirely different light and find the absolute best from within and I think all those that participated would agree we did just that.
There are three things that I would like to bring into this post, three separate Learnings that I had, read them and see what you think…
Learning One
As part of our induction ceremony we were all given the Rune stone Uruz as a gift.
.
In ‘The book of Runes’ Ralph Blum states, the Uruz, indicates that the life you have been living has outgrown its form, which must die so that life energy can be released in a new birth, a new form – the cycle of transformation.
Positive growth and change, however, may also involve passage into darkness as part of the cycle of perpetual renewal. Events occurring may well prompt you to undergo a death within yourself yet the new form, the new life, is always greater than the old. Prepare, then, for opportunity disguised as loss. Seek among the ashes and discover a new perspective, a new birth. Adapt, find humility and learn to serve are also firm principals attached to this rune. This Rune puts you on notice that your soul and the universe support the new growth…
I would like to give thanks to Susan Courtney for her research.
Did any of this resonate with you? Keep reading.
Learning Two
My Warrior group came up with the name ‘The Rising Phoenix’
This is what the Roman poet Ovid wrote:
“Most beings spring from other individuals; but there is a certain kind which reproduces itself. The Assyrians call it the Phoenix. It does not live on fruit or flowers, but on frankincense and odoriferous gums. When it has lived five hundred years, it builds itself a nest in the branches of an oak, or on the top of a palm tree. In this it collects cinnamon, and spikenard, and myrrh, and of these materials builds a pile on which it deposits itself, and dying, breathes out its last breath amidst odors. From the body of the parent bird, a young Phoenix issues forth, destined to live as long a life as its predecessor. When this has grown up and gained sufficient strength, it lifts its nest from the tree (its own cradle and its parent’s sepulchre), and carries it to the city of Heliopolis in Egypt, and deposits it in the temple of the Sun.”
A Phoneix is a symbol of Re-birth, Immortality and Renewal.
Did any of the above resonate with you? Can you apply any of this to your Mid Life right now?
I would like to thank Petra Ivan link who found this information in Wikipedia.
Learning Three
Do you follow the star and planet alignments? Then perhaps you already know that we are moving into the age of Aquarius. Below is a brief synopsis of two emails I was sent towards the end of last week. Whether you believe or not, listen to the message – does it resonate?
Everything that we encounter is designed for us to find out true selves, now is the time to choose which road you wish to journey on, one of love or one of fear? It is now time to ask for what you want without holding back, speak from a place of consciousness with love. It is time to step up to the opportunities that arise and expand – let your heart rule.
The message now is to ground the mind, heart and spirit into the physical. A purification of ourselves will help mother earth. Amazing healing is possible now, within and without. Allow it, because allowing is the way.
You can find out more at: New Reality Transmissions
Thank you George Kedourie for these insights…
Change happens always and yet I feel that at this present moment in time there is great change happening for all, whether we wish to be part of it or not, it will happen. Birth, Renewal and Transformation.
If you have any questions or want to talk about any of the issues raised in this blog then please do not hesitate to contact me by commenting below or sending me a personal message.

For all those wonderful Baby Boomers in the States ‘Thanks Giving’ is nearly upon you – just a month away and the count down to Christmas is just around the corner for Christians around the world! The Festive Season is often a very stressful time for women as they tend to be the ones involved in planning the whole event. At Mid Life juggling everything and everyone can make the stress even greater, here are some tips and solutions to lighten the burden.
‘Ah well’ the moment – don’t let anything or anyone throw you off balance. Just accept it for what it is, take a nice deep breath and move on.
‘Your Decision’ – If you have invited everyone to your house it was your decision – deal with it! A smile works magic.
‘Big Shoulders are Lonely Shoulders’ – There is nothing written in stone that say’s you have to do everything by yourself. Delegate as much as you can.
‘Begin Early’ – It may see boring and non-festive but taking small steps to the big day is less stressful than doing everything last minute style.
‘Think Outside of the Box’ – Do it differently, traditions started somewhere so why not start your own.
‘Me Time’ – No matter what you need some time for yourself. Make sure everyone understands this and be Sensibly Selfish by making sure you plan it into the daily schedule.
‘Enjoy’ – Laughter is the best cure for stress. Festivities are a perfect time to laugh lots and lots, make sure your festive season is fun.
Which one will you choose?
If you have any other ways to deal with festive stress please comment below.
